Types of Flat Roofs We Offer
You have your choice of flat roofing materials for your new roof with Barnett Roofing. These include:
- Thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO). This single-ply membrane roofing material reflects UV rays to improve energy efficiency and boasts extreme resistance to the elements.
- Polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Flexible and recyclable, PVC used as a flat roofing material is eco-friendly and resistant to damage from algae and corrosion.
- Ethylene propylene diene terpolymer (EPDM). Lightweight and durable, EPDM is one of the most popular residential flat roofing materials on the market.
- Built-up roofing (BUR). BUR flat roofing provides layers of material to protect your home from weather damage and has one of the highest fire resistance ratings.
Benefits of a Flat Roof for Your Home
In the past, flat roofs were known for not lasting as long as pitched roofs. Today, flat roofing materials have improved to rival the lifespan of pitched roofs. Flat roofs have a greater range of applications and allow homeowners to use their roofs as a deck or even a garden. Flat roofs also typically carry a lower installation cost because your roofer won’t need to remove the old layers of material.
In addition, materials such as TPO and PVC are eco-friendly options as they allow for better energy efficiency in your home and are completely recyclable.
